Nic explains, “Dissecting the existing murals into modular pieces really felt like an embodiment of how the designs had always existed in my head. I play with and move shapes around as I create the concepts for mural installations until they feel just right to me.”

About a year ago, the duo began asking themselves how they could make their murals available to those who might not have the budget or flexibility to hire them. WallPops answered that question by teaming up with Very Gay Paint to create this collection, making their designs accessible to everyone. Whether you’re queer, straight, or “regular” (as they humorously put it), this collaboration opens the door for everyone to experience the joy and freedom of transforming their space with Very Gay Paint’s unique artistry.
For Nic and Jenson, this collection means their designs can now travel the world—maybe even beyond! As they dream of sending their work to limitless walls throughout time and space, they’re excited to share pieces originally painted for specific clients, allowing others to make these designs their own. One standout design from their home in Silverlake, Amoeba, with its soft, earthy tones, evokes the essence of the space they had to leave behind in 2022. Now, it lives on, ready to multiply and transform new spaces.
The creative process behind this collection felt liberating. As Nic shares, “Separating the murals into each individual shape and allowing people to place them however they like feels like it allows everyone to play designer a bit. Everyone gets to feel like a little gay guy on the east side of LA.”
