2015 Color Predictions!

2015 color trends

We have the whole year ahead of us to dream, create, dazzle and delight! Life will be changing all around us, from new fashion trends to new hairstyles, breaking news stories and more, 2015 will make its own mark.

In the home decorating world, the most popular trends and colors will gradually make their unveiling throughout the next twelve months. With Pantone announcing “Marsala” as the color of the year, we thought it would be fun to make our own predictions as to what colors will ultimately reign in 2015!

1. Warm Earthy Tones: With Marsala debuting as the 2015 color of the year, it seems only right that earthy tones will be seen alongside. Expect a warm mixture of toasty browns and oranges to chic and sophisticated hues of tan and beige.

2. Bold Color Mixing: Bright colors are always in fashion! This year we expect there to be more mixing and matching of colors for an energetic impact. A bold feature wall or colorful piece of furniture is a wonderful starting point followed by a vibrant piece of art, pillow, duvet cover, lamp shade or kitchen appliance for the finishing touch.

3. Green Makes a Comeback: Benjamin Moore announced Guilford Green as their 2015 color of the year. A pale silvery green, this soothing hue creates a peaceful interior that’s hard to match. On the other end of the spectrum, warm olive tones are being seen in both furniture and wall décor. This rich, natural hue is truly lovely (in the right shade of course!).

4. Gray as a Neutral: Sophisticated, chic, trendy and stylish, gray is the “it” color. With the ability to stand alone or act as a neutral, gray isn’t going anywhere anytime soon! From walls to furniture, linens, rugs, accent pieces and beyond, there is not much that can’t be covered in this clean and polished hue.

5. Everything Blue: We saw blue make a comeback last year and we think it’s here to stay (at least for a little while longer..!). Bright Mediterranean style blues to gorgeous ocean shades, deep navy tones and more transform any space into majestic haven.

A Charming Bathroom Makeover

Small bathroom decorating via Better Homes and Gardens, My Fabuless Life Blog, Bloglovin, Houzz, Pinterest and House of Fifty Blog

Redesigning a bathroom can seem like a challenging project. From the small space to the cluttered appliances, creating a look that is both balanced as well as refreshing requires both some thought and dedication. Making sure to not go overboard with your design is also essential in creating a clean space that is free from claustrophobia!

Today, we show you that updating your bathroom doesn’t have to include all those unsightly renovations or a long day of painting, instead choose a couple of your favorite WallPops designs, outline a rough sketch of your desired “look” and then simply get to work!

We loved how these simple bathroom sayings were a perfect complement to the standout ceiling design below!

For added dimension, we framed the Bamboo Wall Decals in black frames to tie all the colors in the bathroom together!

Our advice, pick one primary area in your bathroom that will carry the design and then build out from there. In the video below, we chose to focus on the ceiling and then accent on the walls and other areas of the powder room. However, the most important advice is to pick a design that you LOVE. Although you don’t spend all your time in the bathroom, it is a place that encompasses beauty, cleanliness and hopefully relaxation, so you want a look that reflects that whether you choose to go simple or bold with the design!

Hayneedle’s Top 5 WallPops Decals

A Special Guest Post By John Rost for

Hayneedle_LogoA quick spin around Pinterest reveals large-print wallpapers, bold painted stencils, and other eye-popping designs are adding serious visual interest to the walls around us. If you don’t want to go with full-on wallpaper — maybe you like to change your visuals often, or maybe you’re decorating a space that grows with you — wall decals are an ideal option. They’re easy to apply, easy to remove, and beautifully designed in an incredible array of designs, colors, and shapes. We’re particularly excited about the well curated collection of WallPops on, which are also handily affordable. Here are a few of our favorites from the collection:

 1. WallPops El Paradiso Wall Mural

El Paradiso Beach Wall Mural

WHOOSH! That’s the sound of you being whisked away on an island vacation the minute you walk into a room. This stunning, giant wall decal takes over an entire wall with a bright, high-definition photographic beach scene. This daily vacation comes as eight easy paste-on panels — no tickets or bag check required.

2. WallPops Red Branch Wall Decals

Red Branch Tree Wall Decals

Need a pop of color? Cherry blossoms are beautiful, wistful, and bright. This eye-catching vinyl wall decal is peel-and-stick, so you can place it on any painted wall as many times as you like.

3. WallPops Owl Tree Wall Decal Kit

Owl Tree Wall Decals for Kids Room or Nursery Decor

Decals are great for kids rooms, too. Colorful and fun, they provide the visuals that little ones love without the permanence of wallpaper. This cute tree decal is a hoot, and, at over 4 feet tall, it makes a fun project to put up (or take down) together.

4. WallPops Floral Medley Organization Kit Wall Decals

Floral Medley Dry Erase Wall Calendar Organization Kit Decals

The set is perfect for a home office or dorm room. It’s all peel-and-stick, so you can rearrange it however you want, using all or a few of the pieces. There’s a weekly calendar, a monthly calendar, a big floral message board, and a cork board for reminders.

5. WallPops White Orchid Wall Decal

White Orchid Flower Wall Decal

This orchid wall decal is truly photorealistic, printed in oversized super-high definition for a beauty that’s beyond anything you could paint or paste. It comes as a single-piece stick-on, so the possibilities for where it can bloom are nearly endless.

Two Classy Chics: Back to School with Wallpops Organizational Kits

It’s that time of the year again—dust off the backpacks, lunch boxes and prepare for the kids to go back to school. Honestly, where did the summer go? We’re always on the hunt for cool and different school supplies that stand out from the usual pencil box and file folders. Luckily for us, we were recently introduced to WallPops, which is a premier line of peel-and-stick wall art (wall decals and stickers) from Brewster Home Fashions. They have a cool and creative line of new offerings that add a unique style to jazz up any back to school routine.

I have been reviewing one of the Organization Kits, which for us is more of a family organizing system to help us juggle all of the activities, homework and sports that seem to overwhelm us from a scheduling perspective. I decided to choose the Kolkata Organization Kit, which is a subtle white and grey kit that is accented with jewels. I applied it to the walls in our kitchen, which is really the hub of just about every family (it definitely is for us). This is where we plan our meals; figure out who is going where each day and when we have a day of rest (which is not very often). It’s nice to have this area for all of us to write down important dates or notes.
